Details

Before the season 2007-08:
Janne Ahonen is in good shape. A proof of this are e.g. his good jumps at the Finnish Summer Championships in Lahti in September, although Ahonen does not put great emphasis on summer jumping. This summer he focused again on Drag Racing, where he competed in the Top Fuel category. Ahonen's top speed this summer was 446 km/h
Like the other national team jumpers, Janne Ahonen acted as instructor at the Junior Ski Jumping Carnival in Vuokatti. The enthusiasm of the young jumpers was great as Janne gave everyone personal instruction in inrun and landing positions, etc. Janne Ahonen's own son, Mico 5 years, also took part in the Ski Jumping Carnival for the first time. He did not yet get permission to jump, but he listened carefully to his father's guidance.

Before the season 2007-08:
Nothing new in Janne Happonen's jumping
Janne Happonenrepresenting the club Puijon Hiihtoseura has made "normal" preparations for the upcoming season. Janne Väätäinen, assistant coach of the national team, is his personal coach.
- Everything has gone according to plans. I didn't do anything special in summer, except riding my motorbike. I've trained only in Finland, but the FIS Summer GP competitions brought variation. I've managed to stay healthy, says Happonen and "knocks on wood".
Happonen will focus on the World Cup and the World Championships in Ski Flying, like almost every other jumper in the world.
18.10.2007
- The level of my jumps vary, but there's still time to climb the hill, says Janne Happonen. If everything comes off well, I'm sure I may even reach the podium.
